Naracoorte Backpackers Hostel
Enjoy the friendly family setting at Naracoorte's Backpackers travellers lodge, a real "Home Away from Home",
ideally situated halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne in the centre of South Australia's Limestone Coast region.
A welcome stopover either on your way through to Melbourne via The Grampians and the Great Ocean Road or on
towards Adelaide .
Naracoorte Backpackers is a small 50 bed hostel with 10 rooms consisting of five 4 - 6 bed and one large 9 bed dorm,
two twin and two doubles. The hostel has a fully equipped communal kitchen, outside barbecue area, internet facility,
laundry and a lounge entertainment area where you can sit down to watch TV or videos. Why not sit outside where
you can just relax and enjoy the sun or at night toast marshmallows and warm yourself by the outside fireplace ?
Your hosts Dave and Sonja are always around to give you on hand travel advice on the where to go in the beautiful
Limestone Coast region or travelling on towards the Grampians and the Great Ocean Road.
Naracoorte is home to South Autralia's only World Heritage Listed Fossil Site. This National park contains over
26 limestone caves with four of the main caves open for tours seven days a week. For the adventurous, the Adventure
Caving activity is an exhilerating experience and a real challenge. During summer you can cool off at the free
Naracoorte "Swimming Lake", a quarter of an acre filtered and chlorinated pool surrounded by spacious lawns.
Use Naracoorte as a base and visit Mount Gambier famous for the Blue Lake or Penola home of Mother Mary Mckillop,
Go wine tasting in the well known Coonawarra wine region or head to the coast and visit Robe, Beachport or KIngston.
Naracoorte is certainly a place to relax after a long day of driving and enjoy true Australian country hospitality.
